The Banner Bunch meets every other Tuesday night at 7 PM.  We began in 2000 mainly to retire outdated banners and construct new ones for our sanctuary.  Since then we have an impressive array of liturgical banners to adorn our sanctuary throughout the year.  Our banners are on display in the sanctuary during our annual Hope for the Holidays event.  We continue to meet and work on quilting and sewing projects for our church and the community.  For our friends who do not sew, we often have parts of a project that non-sewers can easily do – cut, press, and pin for example.

Some past and current projects include:  Lap quilts for Hope Church members and shut-ins; Banners for Presbyterian Churches in South Sudan; Updating seasonal banners for the sanctuary.  We have made 31 quilted banners, 8 pulpit falls and several liturgical stoles for pastors.  In addition, we made about 20 little dresses to send to Costs Rica, quilts for nursing homes, habitat quilts and a raffle quilt for a kidney recipient.  Fifty small cross banners went to South Sudan for Presbyterian Churches served by our missionary, Lisa.

Our ideas come to us from the liturgical year that many churches follow. Each season has a color assigned and we design the decor of the sanctuary around that color.

We are people who like to sew or quilt; are creative and interested in adding visual interpretation to our worship space.  We have professional pressers, offer lots of advice on everything and welcome interested persons to come join us!
