How Do You Get to Carnegie Hall?
The answer is simple. Be a member of the Hope Presbyterian Choir! Eight members of the choir will be traveling to New York, Thanksgiving week to sing in the world premiere of “Rhapsody in Bluegrass” by Joseph M. Martin. Last winter we were invited to submit a recording of the choir for consideration for this great honor. We were accepted and invited to participate in this concert at the world-famous Carnegie Hall on November 27, 2017.
Joseph Martin is still working on the composition so we will have access to it before it is published next year. This is quite an honor for the choir and we eagerly anticipate learning the new piece and presenting it in concert in New York City!
The Hope Band, during our summer months, will rehearse/practice each Sunday morning at 8:30 am prior to the 9:30 am Worship.
The Hope Church choir meets weekly on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm during the months between September and May - taking the summer months off. Durig those weekly rehearsals, we rehearse and learn music for the Sunday morning worship services and a cantata that is presented during the Advent season. While we work hard, we are also a group that celebrates together as well.
This very talented groups of singers is a wonderful example of the diversity of ages in the congregation. We welcome members who like to sing - without an audition - to prove their ability.
During the summer months, we enjoy guest musicians, singers, and groups who bring to our worship services much praise and beauty for those attending. We encourage our members and guests to volunteer their talents to share with our church family!
