The Hope for the Holidays Fine Arts and Craft Fair jury is composed of five persons affiliated with Hope Presbyterian Church, three of whom have had art training and experience in displays of art works. The jury is not informed of the artists’ names during the review process. The jury is instructed to score based on the artistic merit of each entry. Each artist’s entry is scored on a scale of 1–10 without using the number 5. Key factors considered in the jury’s review will be:
- Quality of artistic composition and overall design
- Technical Competence: technique, skill, degree of difficulty, mastery of materials used
- Creativity and Originality
- Overall impression of the art
Artist Notification and Selection
Jury selected artists will be notified by email by August 15, 2023. Selected artists will be emailed art fair contract documents; signed contracts and booth fees are due by August 31, 2023.
A waiting list of artists whose scores qualify them for acceptance if cancellations occur will be maintained. The order in which people on the wait-list will be notified for acceptance in the art fair will depend on several factors including medium(s) desired, artist jury score, booth size needs/availability and artist cancellations.
